Volunteer Opportunities PortlandVolunteer Opportunities

PACS has a range of volunteer opportunities Sunday – Friday. Every month nearly 250 people provide their gifts of time and talent to help our food pantry, thrift store, and health center run smoothly. However, our community does not end with our volunteers. In addition to those supporting us with their time and talent are those who support us with donations and prayers that are vital to our success. Together we are a Community of Service!   In fact, last year volunteers contributed over 44,000 hours of service to PACS. That is the equivalent of 21 full-time staff members. PACS simply would not exist without our volunteers.

Join Our Community of Service

You are likely not on this page by accident. If you are considering volunteering with us to support our services, we want to personally invite you to join us. We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities based on your interests and time availability.  Our volunteer jobs range from quiet, behind the scenes volunteering like processing donations or helping in the food pantry, to more public facing roles like being a cashier, driving a truck, or helping families shop in our food pantry. Whether you have four hours a day, or four hours a week, or four hours a month there is a place for you in our community.  Here is a link to our volunteer opportunities brochure).

The first step in volunteering with us is to contact Kellie Stephens our volunteer coordinator at (503) 252-8500 ext. 120  to arrange a tour of our services and to discuss volunteer opportunities. If you decide to join us, there is an application to complete and we are required to do a basic background check and then be prepared to both give and receive.  Together we are a Community of Service, providing service to the community. Welcome!
