PACS Thrift Store Donations
The PACS Thrift Stores are a major resource for low-income families. The store’s existence depends entirely on donations of clothing and household items. Donations can be dropped off during the hours listed above. At this time, we do not offer to pick up donations from individuals. All donations are tax-deductible according to IRS guidelines (More information IRS Website). Please consult your tax professional to make the determination of your tax deduction.
Donate Clothing and Household Goods
Ideally, donations must be serviceable items that other people would be interested in purchasing. For items that do not sell, we recycle some materials. We do accept most clothing and household items including mattresses and box springs as long as they are free from major stains and tears. We reserve the right to not accept any items that we cannot sell or recycle.
Items that we do not accept
There are some items that we do not take under any circumstances. These items include: unframed glass and mirrors, computer printers, display monitors, fax machines, or televisions, paint or potentially hazardous materials, furniture that is excessively stained, torn, broken, oversized or excessively heavy. We cannot accept baby cribs or children’s car seats.
Hours that we Accept Donations
We accept donations during normal business hours (see here). We do not accept donations after hours. Leaving donations after hours is considered illegal dumping and diverts our resources from serving the community. Weather damages the goods left after hours and unattended donations are often vandalized, stolen and turned into trash. This results in our spending time to clean up the mess and costs us a significant amount of money in additional waste disposal fees. Donations left after hours hurt our ability to carry out our mission.
