Corporate and Matching Gifts
Employer Matching Gifts
Many companies today offer a matching gift when you make a donation to PACS. Some companies even match gifts for their retired employees. If the company you work for matches gifts, then the value of the contribution to PACS may be increased — at no cost to you! For example, if you donate a dollar and your company matches that gift, your $1 donation becomes a $2 donation, at no extra cost to you! We have received matching company donations from companies like The Standard Insurance Company, Kaiser, and Cambia Health, among others.
It starts with you! Call your company’s Human Resources Department and ask if they match employee donations. Often there is a simple form to complete and it may have a portion of the form that PACS must complete. You can mail the form to us at Portland Adventist Community Services 11020 NE Halsey St, Portland, OR 97220. You can also fax your completed form to 503-257-2884.
We appreciate your extra effort. If you want help through this process call Katie Linfoot, development associate, at 503-252-8500 ext. 1130.
Back in 2002, Michael Porter and Mark Kramer wrote an article in the Harvard Business Review titled, The Competitive Advantage of Corporate Philanthropy. Unless you are a business literature nerd, you likely do not have to read the article to get the point. The title says it all. The practice of giving by businesses is not only good for the community but it is also good for the bottom line. PACS is here to help. Whether you want to make PACS the recipient of your year-end-giving campaign, are interested in hosting a food drive for our Food Pantry, have quality furniture you wish to donate following an office remodel, or are interested in being a corporate sponsor of our Annual Awards Dinner, we would love to talk with you. Setting up a corporate giving program starts with a phone call to Katie Linfoot, development associate, at 503-252-8500 ext. 1130.
